SOIL MATERIALS

Based on the BSWM data, the soils of Jalajala are categorized into four (4) types of parent materials, namely: mixed sediments, andesite, agglomerates and complex volcanic rocks.  The table below also shows the common mineral and mode of formation of each of these parent types.

The parent material of most of the soils in the Municipality is of the volcanic flow and pyroclastic rock types in the plio-pleistocene formation.
